Trident Hilton Hotel, Agra
Overview :
The Trident, Agra, set amidst beautiful gardens, fountains, landscaped central courtyards, is built of red stone reminiscent of the Mughal era. The Hotel is literally, a stone's throw away from one of the new 7 Wonders of the World, the Taj Mahal. Located on the Fatehabad road, Trident, Agra is 1.5 kms from the historic Taj Mahal. The central courtyard and stone work at the hotel are reminiscent of the Mughal era.
Accomodation :
The Trident, Agra's 136 rooms and 2 suites are set amongst Mughal style gardens, courtyards and architecture to make guests feel one with the history. From the Deluxe Garden View rooms, guests take in the view of the tropical gardens, courtyards and fountains influenced by Mughal architecture. The two suites at the Trident, Agra each have an elegantly furnished bedroom and a living room with an additional wash room. Guests at the suite receive special complimentary amenities. A refreshing view of the swimming pool greets guests staying at the Deluxe Pool View rooms.
Smoking Rules :
Effective 2nd October 2008, the Government has introduced "No-Smoking" legislation for hotels, restaurants and all public places. As a consequence, smoking is prohibited in all parts of the hotel except in designated bedrooms where smoking is permitted. The hotel has dedicated smoking guest bedrooms. Should you desire a smoking bedroom, please let us know. We shall endeavor to reserve a smoking bedroom for you, subject to availability.
Restaurant :
Make every meal a reason to relax and slow down a bit more. Located beside the pool, guests can indulge in cuisine from around the world by ordering à la carte or from the delicious buffets. The pizzas from the wood fired oven are highly recommended. Cuisines include Continental, South East Asian & Indian. Timings : 6 am to 11 pm
Bar :
Care has been taken to make sure that food and beverages at the Hotel, fit into the overall feel of a relaxed and charming atmosphere. Bar is situated at the lobby level, the bar is a perfect setting for guests' evening entertainment or a quiet nightcap to end the hustle and bustle of a day in Agra. Guests can choose from an extensive selection of spirits, wines and cocktails at the bar. Timings: 11 am to 11 pm.
Recreation :
Guests at the Trident, Agra can set aside time to catch up on exercise - be it a high energy workout to set the tone for the day or a much needed walk to wind down at the end of one. Getting to and from the Hotel :
By Air: Agra's Kheria Airport is located 11kms from Trident, Agra and is approximately a 35 minutes drive. By Rail: The main railway station at Agra is the Agra Cantonment station. The journey takes approximately two hours from New Delhi by Shatabdi Express and, three hours by Taj Express. There are direct trains from Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai as well. The drive to the hotel takes approximately 20 minutes. By Road: The Delhi-Agra highway joins the two cities via Matura and is the best route for those wanting to drive to Agra. The drive of 190 kms takes approximately four hours. There are an adequate number of refueling stations and restaurants on the way.
The Taj Mahal - 7th Wonder of World - 2.5 Kms :
One of the world's most renowned architectural marvels, was built by Mughal Emperor Shahjahan to enshrine the body of his favourite wife MumtazMahal. A dream in white marble, it is most alluring on a moonlit night or even when it is shrouded in mist.
Agra Fort - 5 Kms :
It was built by Akbar to commemorate his victory over Gujarat, boasts of magnificent towers, bastions, ramparts and gateways. Other monuments at the Agra Fort are the Jahangiri Mahal, the Khas Mahal, the Sheesh Mahal, the Musamman Burj, Diwan-e-Khaas, Diwan-e-Aam and the Mati Masjid.
Fatehpur Sikri - 39 Kms :
A masterpiece of architecture, Fatehpur Sikri was the creation of Mughal Emperor Akbar to celebrate the birth of his son. The city was constructed in gratitude to Sheikh Salim Chisti. The enchanting marble tomb of Sheikh Salim Chisti still draws thousands who seek the blessing of the saint. Other places of interest are Diwan-e-Aam, Diwan-e-Khaas, Buland Darwaza, Panch Mahal, Jodha Bai's Palace and Birbal Bhavan. Annual Urs of Sheikh Salim Chisti celebrated in the month of Ramzan, is a great event for devotees.
Chini Ka Rauza: - 06 Kms :
It depicts the Persian influence on Mughal architecture.
Ram Bagh - 10 Km :
It was created by Emperor Babar and is one of the earliest Mughal gardens. History says that Babar was temporarily buried here, before being interred at Kabul.
Sikandra - 16 Kms :
Akbar's mausoleum - a majestic composition in deep red sandstone and marble.
Itmad-ud-daulah - 08 Kms :
The craftsmanship of Itmad-ud-daulah foreshadows that of the Taj Mahal. This marble tomb was created by Emperor Jahangir's queen, Nur Jahan, for her father, Mirza Ghiyas Beg. The monument displays for the first time, the use of Pietra dura - inlay work on marble, so characteristic of the Taj.
Soami Bagh - 12 Km :
Soami Bagh which houses the Samadhi of the founder of Radha Swami faith, 'Swamiji Maharaj' is a majestic building built of pure white marble. The most impressive features of the Samadhi are the detailed and exquisite carvings on the walls, arches and pillar capitals.
Taj Mahotsav :
A rare opportunity to see the master craftsmen working on traditional crafts. The Taj Mahotsav, a festival of arts, crafts, culture and celebration, is a perfect introduction to India and Uttar Pradesh. Mughal delicacies, heart warming songs, dance, drama and music by celebrities add colour to the festival organised every year from 18th to 27th February.
Sur Sarovar (Keetham lake) - 27 Kms :
Situated within Surdas Reserve Forest is a scenic lake, Sur Sarovar. It is a tranquil spot, idealfor relaxed outings. A widevariety of fishes and water birds add to the lake's natural charm and beauty.
Patna Bird Sanctuary - 54 Kms :
Located in the Jalesar town of Etah district, the Patna Bird Sanctuary is spread over an area of 108 hectares. Over 300 different species of exotic birds cluster here during the breeding season in winter months. The intertwined date trees convert the sanctuary scenically into a mini Goa.
